INDIGENT CREMATIONS

Highlands County provides for direct cremation when there are no other resources to cover final expenses. Eligibility is based on income and assets.

Healthcare Responsibility Act (HCRA) 

This program provides reimbursement to out-of-county hospitals for emergency services provided to Highlands County residents. Eligibility is based on income and assets. 

PRESCRIPTION ASSISTANCE

Eligible Highlands County residents with no insurance coverage may receive prescription assistance for life-sustaining medications.  No controlled substances and/or pain medications are provided through this program.
