Highlands County has a library in Sebring, Avon Park and Lake Placid to serve its residents. Each library provides wi-fi and internet access, internet databases, online courses, e-content materials and over 300,000 items from books to  video games to DVDs.  An average of over 418,000 items are checked out annually.

Library cards are free to anyone who lives in Highlands County and are also valid at any of the libraries in the counties that comprise the Heartland Library Cooperative which are DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Highlands and Okeechobee.

Curbside available Fridays 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
