The Transportation division oversees development review, project design, permitting, and construction inspections for roadway, sidewalk, and multi-use path projects. Staff works closely with Road & Bridge to identify countywide transportation needs and determine which projects can be completed in-house. Staff uses this information to pursue grant opportunities each year to request funding to help facilitate these needs. Project Managers work closely with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), various consultants and contractors, and other County departments to ensure all Federal guidelines are met for each project.  This division also ensures the County’s Land Development Regulations are followed relating to any work being performed within the public rights-of-way, and supports long-term planning, policy development, and studies that address the county’s growing transportation demands.

Staff also work with other departments and divisions to provide assistance as needed.
